Peebles Island State Park

Peebles island state park is at the confluence of the hudson and mohawk rivers. it offers spectacular river and rapids views for walkers and joggers who take advantage of the miles of paths through the gently rolling and wooded landscape. picnickers and fishermen come to relax and winter visitors use the facilities to cross-country ski, hike and snowshoe.

Pine Grove Boat Launch at Selkirk Shores State Park

Nearby selkirk shores state park, this boat launch features a shallow water launch into the salmon river, approximately 1/2 mile to lake ontario. the boat launch is minutes from local hotels and campgrounds and features fishing, restrooms, drinking fountain and jug filler. fires, picnicking and swimming are not allowed.

Pinnacle State Park and Golf Course

Pinnacle state park has breathtaking views and tremendous vistas, including the canisteo river valley, harris hill and the village of addison. the park is known for its challenging 9-hole golf course, but visitors can enjoy many other recreational activities, including hiking or cross-country skiing on 11 miles of trails. anglers can fish for bass, bluegill or bullheads in levi pond. hunters can go after deer, turkey or small game in season and picnickers can relax and enjoy the scenery.

Pixley Falls State Park

Point Au Roche State Park

Point au roche state park, on the northwestern shore of lake champlain, is a mixture of open and forested areas, most of them natural and undeveloped. the park's large day-use area has a protected, sandy beach, picnic facilities and concession stand. boating and fishing are popular activities, as are volleyball, softball and other games. the park offers 60 designated mooring sites in deep bay. the staffed nature center offers a variety of programs open to the public all year. the park's trails, including nature, hiking and biking trails, wind through interesting habitats, from forest to marsh to shoreline. the trails are in use all year for school programs, nature hikes and cross-country skiing. the park also provides access for ice fishing.

Reservoir State Park

Reservoir state park, town of niagara route 31, is a favorite of locals in niagara county. the park has three tennis courts, eight baseball diamonds, two basketball courts, a roller hockey court and picnic facilities. it is also home to the largest softball complex in niagara county. other users include soccer players, runners, kite fliers, model airplane clubs and golfers. winter visitors come to sled and cross-country ski. part of the park is an overlook for the robert moses power plant reservoir. excellent fishing available in the reservoir.

Riverbank State Park

Robert G. Wehle State Park

Robert g. wehle state park is the region's newest park. the former estate of mr. wehle, the park boasts 1,100 acres and over 17,000 ft of spectacular lake ontario shoreline. among the facilities immediately available to the public is the residential compound featuring the main house, guest quarters, the "studio" and formal gardens. extremely private, the area can accommodate up to 8 people. rental arrangements can be made through the wescott beach state park office. also available are over 10 miles of hiking/mountain biking trails, tennis court, picnicking and cross-country skiing. hunting is allowed in designated areas during the season.

Robert H. Treman State Park

Robert h. treman state park is an area of wild beauty, with the rugged gorge called enfield glen as its scenic highlight. winding trails follow the gorge past 12 waterfalls, including the 115-foot lucifer falls, to where visitors can see a mile-and-a-half down the wooded gorge as it winds its way to the lower park. campers can choose from tent or rv sites or cabins. enjoy nine miles of hiking trails, or swim in a stream-fed pool beneath a waterfall. swimming is allowed in lifeguarded area only.

Robert moses state park is located partly on the mainland and partly on barnhart island. visitors reach the park through a tunnel under the eisenhower lock. the park is spacious, home to a large variety of flora and fauna and offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, including wooded campsites and cabins, a marina and boat launch, some of the best fishing in the northeast, picnic areas, a swimming beach, tennis courts and a year round nature center. the nature center also offers holiday, special events and school outreach programs. the park's nature, hiking and cross-country skiing trails wind through fields, forests and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views. in winter, the park also welcomes snowmobilers.

Roberto Clemente State Park

Rockefeller State Park Preserve

Visitors will delight in the ever growing haven of open space in westchester county known as rockefeller state park preserve. approximately 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of new york city, the preserve is an idyllic spot for strolling, jogging, horseback riding, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing. with 180 recorded species of birds and its iba (important bird area) designation by the national audubon society, the preserve is a must visit area for birders. in season, licensed anglers enjoy fishing for bass in the 22 acre swan lake and for brown trout in the pocantico river.

Rockland Lake State Park

Rockland lake state park's lake is located on a ridge of hook mountain above the west bank of the hudson river. the park offers a huge 24,140 square foot swimming pool with diving boards--the pool is more than 10,000 square feet larger than an olympic size pool! a kiddie pool is also available for young children. the park also offers picnic tables; grills, a car top boat launch dock, hiking trails with breath-taking views of the hudson valley, six tennis courts and the rockland lake state park golf courses, featuring two 18 hole golf courses. anglers can fish rockland lake for bass, perch and norlunge. walkers, joggers, roller bladers, and bicyclists can enjoy the 3.2 mile non-motorized use paved trail around the lake.

Sampson State Park

Encompassing just over 2000 acres on the eastern shore of seneca lake, sampson state park features camping and boating as the primary recreational activities. the park has a total of 309 campsites with 245 electric and 64 non-electric sites. the marina has just over 100 boat slips and a large multiple ramp launch site. a key feature of the park is the beautiful view of the lake at its center. facilities include courts for tennis, horseshoes, basketball and volleyball, a swimming beach with nearby playground, a low impact fitness circuit and a scenic lake trail. other popular activities include fishing, bicycling, jogging, geocaching, and nature watching. picnic shelters are available and may be reserved for events.

Sandy Island Beach State Park

Sandy island beach state park is part of the eastern lake ontario dune and wetland system, a 17 mile stretch which extends from the town of richland, oswego county, north along lake ontario to jefferson county. the dunes were formed by wind and wave motion of a giant inland sea that preceded lake ontario. the area is only significant freshwater dune site in the northeastern united states.the eastern lake ontario dune system offers many opportunities for hikers, birdwatchers, canoeists and kayakers. walkovers and viewing platforms have been built to protect the fragile dune environment.

Schodack Island State Park

Schodack island state park sits off the eastern shore of the hudson river just south of albany. approximately seven miles of hudson river and schodack creek shoreline bound the 1,052-acre site. a day-use facility, the park has been designated a state estuary, and a portion of the park shelters a bird conservation area (bca) that is home to bald eagles, cerulean warblers and blue herons that nest in the cottonwood trees. eight miles of multi-use trails wind through a variety of ecological communities. in addition, the park has an improved bike trail, volleyball nets, horseshoe and a kayak/canoe launch site. interpretive signage highlights the park's historic and environmental significance. picnicking (tables and grills), groups by reservation (fee)

Selkirk Shores State Park

Swimming is not allowed at selkirk shores state park.  the former swimming beach will require a comprehensive waterfront evaluation, design, and reconstruction project before this activity could return to the park.  there are currently no plans or funding in place for this project.

Seneca lake state park overlooks blue water, creating a relaxing experience for swimmers and picnickers. children will be especially delighted with our sprayground and playground facilities. the sprayground is the first of its kind built in the new york state parks system with over 100 water jets that spontaneously spray water. neighboring the sprayground is the playground with equipment for children ages 4-12. this park also offers 2 excellent marinas, with a total of 132 electric slips and 84 non-electric slips. transient slips available at both marinas.

Shadmoor State Park

Ninety-nine acre shadmoor state park, located one quarter-mile east of montauk village, features more than 2,400 feet of ocean beach accessed by two stairways. the park, named for its open, rolling geography and the shadbush that grows there, also has bluffs, freshwater wetlands that are part of the preserve, hiking trails and elevated platforms for birdwatching and enjoying the shoreline views. visitors may picnic and saltwater fish.
